This is perhaps the most striking fall in all the Lakeland. Two pony-tme&s start from the Gill to Wastdale Head and Borrowdale, and the Gill itself is frequented though not spoiled by troops of tourists. A curious block of slate has wedged itself across the Gill, thus making a natural bridge, and in summer time the Stickle water, as it tumbles, is fringed with exquisite honeysuckle.
