Christ Church is located on Second Street above Market Street. A portion of the present building was erected in 1727 and the remainder was built at various intervals. Presidents Washington and Adams worshipped here and Benjamin Franklin had a pew in this church for many years. Many great patriots of the Revolution are interred in the adjacent ground and under the floor of the church.
