Posed here are Naiche and his wife, Ha-o-Zinne ('Standing Up Like A Tree'). Naiche, second son of Chief Cochise, became a leader of the Chiricahua Apaches following the death of his elder brother, Taza, in 1876. Naiche was one of the last of the Apache resistors to surrender.
