| Named for its similar shape of the African continent, Africa Geyser is an example of the birth and death of a geyser in the Norris Geyser Basin. It first began to erupt in 1971 with heights of 45 feet and consistent intervals of 90 minutes. After only two years, Africa Geyser began to decline into dormancy. Now there is little evidence that a geyser ever existed. |
