The front features a decorative border of yellow and pink/red chrysanthemums and green leaves surrounding a poem. The poem describes 'The girls of the PLAIN' sending a worker to distant Japan to teach the Gospel of Love, and asks for the recipient's help, stating that success depends on them. The back has a handwritten message inviting Mrs. Buckley to an annual meeting and asking her to bring music, signed by Mrs. Stark. It is postmarked Elmira, NY, August 22, 1909.
