| St. Peter's Cathedral is a masterpiece of High and Late Romanesque architecture, built between 1132 and 1181. It features a double-choir basilica with four round towers and two massive crossing towers, rich in sculptural ornamentation. The interior is 110m long, 27m wide, with the nave reaching 27m and domes 40m high. The high altar from 1738-42 by Balthasar Neumann is notable. |
