| The Château des Ducs de Bretagne, built in the 13th century, served as both a residential palace and a military fortress. Anne of Brittany continued its beautification. Henry IV signed the Edict of Nantes here in 1598. It hosted French kings in the 16th century and became a barracks in the 17th century. The city of Nantes acquired it in 1915. |
