San Bernardino Asistencia Campanile with Snowy Mountains, Redlands
Additional Details:
| The campanile was added in the southeast corner of the San Bernardino "Asistencia" complex on Barton Road during the restoration phase, 1934-1937, by the WPA. This familiar landmark is patterned after a well-known bell tower at San Antonio de Pala Mission in San Diego County. The location of the "Asistencia" in Redlands was determined by the Zanja, dug by Indians ca. 1820. It is California Historical Landmark, No. 42. |
