| The moves of the Spruce Goose: Move I occured on October 29, 1980 after 33 years seclusion in its huge hangar; Move II, after 18 months of storage at Pier E, the Flying Boat moves to a temporary site at Pier J; the final move, shown here, was underway on February 11, 1982 and the Spruce Goose is now housed under the biggest freestanding aluminum dome in the world, located next to the Queen Mary. |
