| The Monument aux Girondins, 50 meters high, was installed between 1894 and 1902. The basin facing the Grand Théâtre symbolizes the Triumph of the Republic, while the side facing the Public Garden represents the Triumph of Concord. All the bronzes were unbolted on August 14, 1943, and the reinstallation of the fountains, comprising 52 tons of bronze, 35 figures, and nearly 70 pieces, was completed in 1984. |
