Rainbow Stadium, Hawaii Baseball Park
Additional Details:
| PARADISE FOUND — If there were ever the ideal ballpark in such a choice location, the University of Hawaii's Rainbow Stadium certainly would be a candidate. Constructed in 1984 with a seating capacity of 4,312, it bears some resemblance in modern grandstand design to The Diamond in Richmond, VA. In 1986 the cozy facility hosted most of the home games for the Hawaii Islanders, then the Class AAA affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. The following year the Islanders moved back to more spacious Aloha Stadium, but also played PCL games on the islands of Maui and Hawaii during the season. What attractive road trips for the visiting teams! |
