| Probably one of the most spectacular eruptions recorded in Hawaii. Kilauea Iki is thirty miles from City of Hilo, Hawaii, and the eruption started on November 14, 1959. Last recorded eruption of Kilauea Iki was in 1868. The eruption from beginning to end consisted of the fountain and flow going on and off sixteen or more times. The highest recorded fountain was approximately 1,900 ft. and was the fifteenth. |
