Puukohola Heiau with People, Hawaii
Additional Details:
| One of Hawaii's most historic sites, this ancient Hawaiian temple is just over a mile from the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. Partially restored and preserved by the State, it was built in 1790-91 by Kamehameha, the king who united the Hawaiian Islands, because he was told by his prophet that he would become supreme ruler if he built this heiau for his god. |
