A tall, white obelisk monument surrounded by lush greenery and palm trees, with stone steps leading up to it. The monument marks the spot where Captain Cook, the famed Pacific Navigator, was killed on February 14, 1779. The 50-foot square plot was deeded to Britain by Princess Like Like in 1876 when the monument was erected.
