Madison County Courthouse, Anderson, IN

In 1831 a log cabin courthouse was built on ground donated to Madison County by the John Berry family, with the stipulation that the land be used as the county seat. The first courthouse burned down in 1880. In 1882 the cornerstone was laid for the new courthouse. On Feb. 12, 1972 demolition work was started with the opening of the cornerstone. |
