A church ministering both to a resident community and to the Presbyterian preference students of Iowa State College. The church was organized in the home of Mr. Thomas Sloss on Feb. 21, 1911. There were 40 charter members. The present membership of 1400 members and 125 affiliate members supports a budget of $70,000 of which $25,000 is given for benevolence. In her half-century of service the church has been served by 8 pastors, Dr. Innes, Dr. Barr, Dr. Boozer, Dr. Walter Barlow, Dr. Ray Turner, Dr. Jas. Bean, Dr. E. W. Remley. Two services of worship and two sessions of church school are held throughout the academic year. The average attendance at worship including both services is 1,100. |
