Mobile Mooring Mast is 76 feet in height, weighs 130 tons and is powered by a 240 horse-power gasoline engine, and will pull the world's largest airship in and out of its dock. This “motorized hitching post” for airships has a caterpillar tractor at each corner of its triangular base, the two rear tractors serving to drive the mast forward, while the forward tractor is used for steering. Maximum speed is two miles per hour, either forward or reverse. |
