Additional Details:
Without doubt, this building, with its many windows and castle-like turrets, is the most attractive of all campus halls. Erected in 1890 and rebuilt in 1895, following a fire that destroyed it that winter, the building has been named in honor of John W. Davis, Governor of Rhode Island from 1887-1888 and 1890-1891. From the founding of the institution in 1890, and until 1909, it served as a men's dormitory, but women have occupied it since. "Angel's Row" is located on the fifth floor, the infirmary in the basement, and the Military Science rooms on the first floor.
