Hello there!
Here we are in the Southeast corner of Utah having a wonderful time. The scenery is terrific! We go to bed with the pleasant feeling that the Supreme Creator must have been here taking a personal interest in this country when the landscaping and the exterior decorating were done.
We are very comfortable in this nice Motel and the folks who run it are friendly and helpful. Tonight they are going to show us slides of Monument Valley, the Bridges, Indian Ruins & Jeep trips they have made. We have a beautiful room with carpet, wonderful beds, tile bath, telephone and refrigeration. Their prices are most reasonable, and they have offered us their backyard barbecue facilities, which we intend to use. They have also been helpful and generous with some accurate information about Monument Valley and how to plan our trip into there.
Blanding is a nice little town with friendly people, a nice climate, (6,000 ft. high so the summer evenings are just right) lots of local history - Indians, Pioneers, etc. Do you know there was an Indian War here not too long ago? Well, 1923, to be exact. The history is as interesting and colorful as the scenery! Could tell much more but must retire now so we can get an early start. We're staying several days. When you visit this country, come to MOTEL BLANDING!
