| "THE GENERAL" STEAMS AGAIN. Built 1855 by Rogers Locomotive Works, Paterson, N. J., sold to State of Georgia's Western & Atlantic R.R. for $8,850. Stolen by Yankees for escape attempt during Civil War on April 12, 1862, reconditioned by Louisville & Nashville R.R. for 100th anniversary of its famous Civil War Run. Used in 1914 for silent movie version of "The Great Locomotive Chase." |
