| This is a massive structure of granite, 40 years in course of construction and estimated to have cost $12,000,000, and was completed April 6th 1892. It has an extreme length of 186 feet, a width of 99 feet and with the towers covers an area of 21,850 square feet. The loftiest tower is 222 feet high and is surmounted by a statue of the Angel Moroni, 12 feet high, made of hammered copper and plated with gold leaf. |
