| This odd shaped formation is growing on the floor of the Caverns by drops of water falling from the ceiling. Jim White, the early explorer of the Caverns, gave it the name of "Baby Hippo". It can be seen near the winding paved trail on the downward trip of this underground Fairyland in NEW MEXICO. The temperature in the Caverns is 56° summer and winter.
