| The GERMANIC, a WHITE STAR LINE steam-ship, was 455 feet long, 45 feet wide, iron hulled, with a single-screw and steamed 16 knots. Her maiden voyage was May 20, 1875 and won the transatlantic "Blue Ribbon" in February, 1876. Long lived, the GERMANIC was scrapped in 1950. Her sister ship was the BRITANNIC. Both carried 220 First Class and 900 Third Class passengers. |
