Built in 1850, the Stanwood Homestead was the
birthplace of one of Maine's pioneer ornithologists,
Cordelis J. Stanwood. Maintained as a museum, it is
an integral part of Birdsacre, a fifty acre wildlife pre-
serve traversed by many nature trails.
