| The United States Army Sergeants Major Academy was opened in Fort Bliss on 1 July 1972. A new five building complex connected by a circular courtyard was dedicated on 12 November 1987. Four residence Courses are taught here: Sergeants Major Course, First Sergeants Course, Operations and Intelligence Course and Personnel and Logistics Course, with an annual student population of 2,666 plus 530 correspondence course students. Truly the Sergeants Major Course is the Capstone of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System. |
