| Located on the Neches River 42 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico, the Port of Beaumont is a major deepwater port serving world trade. Founded in the early 1900's to enable southeast Texas agricultural and forest products to reach overseas markets, the port today handles imports and exports at the rate of more than 3.5 million tons per year. The port is operated by the Port of Beaumont Navigation District of Jefferson County, Texas. Tours are available to the general public. |
