| In 1947, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Goelet presented their Chateau, Ochre Court, to Salve Regina as its founding site. Since September 1947, it has grown from a small freshman class to a fully accredited university with degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition, it now occupies many historically significant buildings in the Bellevue Avenue and Cliff Walk area. Ochre Court (1888-91), was designed by Richard Morris Hunt, now chapel, reception rooms and administrative offices for the university. |
