| Named for the mineral that was found here in the mid-1800's, Copper Mountain is Summit County's largest ski and snowboard area. The initial survey by the U.S. Forest Service noted it as "the most outstanding potential ski area in the Arapahoe National Forest." Opened in 1971, Copper Mountain's naturally divided terrain ranges from beginner to extreme and spans over 2,430 acres from as high as 12,313 feet. |
