| First settled in the late 1800's, Copper Mountain was named for the mineral found here at that time. Copper Mountain is Summit County's largest ski area with over 2,430 skiable acres and a 2,601 foot vertical rise from the base at 9,712 feet to the summit at 12,313 feet. Since opening in 1971, it has held a reputation as the local's favorite and is a repeat destination for visitors. It's naturally divided terrain offers something for everyone, from the beginner to the expert. |
