LIGHTHOUSE, Port Isabel, Texas, now inactive, but kept by the Texas State Parks Board. Erected in 1852, this lighthouse served as a beacon for the commerce of the Rio Grande. It was extinguished during the Civil War and permanently discarded from use in 1905.
