Ernest Hemingway, Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winning novelist, lived in this house from 1932 to 1961. It was at this location that he wrote most of his famous novels including "To Have and Have Not" about a Key West fisherman. The house was built by Asa Tift in 1851 from coral rock quarried on the grounds.
