GULFSTREAM
Designed specifically for the businessman, Grumman's sleek turbo-prop Gulfstream
cruises at 350 mph and has a range of 2,200 statute miles with reserve. Pressurization
at a cruising altitude of 25,000 feet provides a comfortable air conditioned cabin altitude
of 5,500 feet. The plane is designed to carry as many as 19 persons when used as a utility
airplane, but carries 12 persons when furnished as a corporate airplane. The Gulfstream
is powered by 2 Rolls Royce Dart turbo-prop engines and the aircraft is completely
independent of all ground handling equipment. It has a gross weight of 33,600 pounds,
a wing span of 78 feet, and an overall length of 64 feet. The airplane has a 2-engine
service ceiling of 36,000 feet and a single-engine ceiling of 17,000 feet. It is capable
of operating in and out of runways less than 4,000 feet in length with a full load.
