Fort De Chartres State Park
Canoes were one of the major modes of travel
during the 1700's. One of the many highlights during
the Annual Fort de Chartres Rendezvous is the
Voyageur canoe race between Ft. Chartres Landing
to St. Genevieve, Missouri. These Canoes are 24 and
36 feet long holding 15 or more men. Near Prairie
du Rocher on I-55 off Route #3, IN SOUTHERN
ILLINOIS.
