A CENTURY OF PROGRESS, CHICAGO
ODAY I inspected one of the planes used in the world's fastest
multi-motored passenger-mail-express plane service.-a sister
ship of the one pictured on the reverse side. Sixty of these new
type all-metal Boeing monoplanes are in service on United
Air Lines' various routes.
Powered with two 550 h. p. supercharged Wasp engines, they
have a high speed of more than three miles a minute. They
carry ten passengers, two pilots and stewardess and baggage,
mail and express and can climb, fully loaded, 1320 feet per min-
ute and to 10,000 feet in eleven minutes. They incorporate new
eatures of comfort, speed, strength and power.
