Union Pacific pioneered in developing Streamline Passenger Trains. Started building first train of three cars in 1933; sent it on 12,000 mile exhibition tour in 1934. In 1936 had five Pullman-equipped Streamliners in service between Chicago and the West; and several super-streamliners under construction for 1937 delivery.
