240 COMANCHE SPRING, POOL AND
BATH HOUSE, FORT STOCKTON, TEXAS
For centuries the clear waters of Comanche
Spring have been a gathering place in West-
ern Texas, from the days of the tribes of
Indians who gave it their name, and the time
z of the intrepid pioneers who forged the
Chihuahua Trail and the Old Spanish Trail.
Today it is a crystal clear, pure, free swim-
ming pool, as shown-located just three blocks
from downtown Fort Stockton. Its spring
waters irrigate 6,000 acres of rich farm land,
and here the annual Fort Stockton Water
Carnival is held each June.
