| Simple, dignified and handsome, the Navajos are best known for their beautiful rugs and turquoise jewelry. All through Arizona and parts of New Mexico, these Indians are to be seen - living in small groups in their own native way - houses built of adobe or stones - some are round with curved roofs covered with the red Arizona dirt - these are called Hogans. Other houses are square with flat top roofs - used for spreading things out on. |
