Stonington, Conn. during War of 1812 who with
3 cannon drove off an attack by a hostile
squadron of 5 British Vessels with 160 cannon
under command of Commodore Thomas Hardy,
Aug. 9-12, 1814. Many houses were struck with
cannon balls but none were destroyed.
