Flag house, where the first American flag was made. The American Flag. June 14, 1777, Congress, in session at Philadelphia, adopted a resolution fixing the design for the flag of the thirteen United States. In this little old-fashioned house did Mrs. John Rose, of Philadelphia, first combine the Stars and Stripes, after a design drawn by General George Washington.
