View of the entrance to the Ratskeller in Leipzig, Germany. The entrance features large arches, stonework, and a lion statue. The handwritten message on the back reads: "Aug 7 - 05 Arrived in Leipzig about 4 pm. Had dinner at Hofbrau Hotel. Out about 6. Wrote cards to F & G. Had shopping til walked around city in rain to get a general idea of the place. Minde Brunnen, Sieges denk mal, alte Rathhaus etc. Evening Mable & Willie went to see things. Apparently I went to bank & M to see relations. They were surprised when they saw me in Kaiser. Of course I did not see much but saw the Kaiser. Bank paid me and all quite lively. Aug 8. Had shopping til quite a time getting back with photos etc & a box for Mabel, Willie. Mr. A. Kirl did shopping."
