Fair Play, Fire Company No. 1, chartered September 6, 1849, is the oldest volunteer fire company in Indiana and first saw action as a "Bucket Brigade" A hand drawn piece of equipment, purchased in 1851, is still in possession of the company, The weathervane, atop the belltower, is a landmark more than 80 years old.
