Thomas Wolfe Memorial, 48 Spruce St.
| The house is known to thousands of American and European readers as "Dixieland", the home of the Gant family of "Look Homeward Angel", the boarding house operated by Eliza Gant. It has been restored, in so far as possible, to the exact state and appearance of the days of the writer's youth. The Thomas Wolfe Memorial was purchased and is now maintained by the Thomas Wolfe Memorial Association. It is open to the public year around and a modest admission fee is charged.|
