68083—Willey Brook Bridge, spanning Willey
Brook, one of the wonders of Crawford Notch,
crosses a gorge even deeper than the famous Frank
enstein Gulf. Far down the valley lies the site of
the Willey House, the scene of a terrible avalanche,
which on August 28th, 1826, blotted out the lives
of the entire Willey family.
