A COVER FROM THE NORTH POLE 15- 15- The First Time in History that such a souvenir cover has ever been possible to the collector On or about March 8th, the American Polar Basin Expedition will leave New York for the North Pole-the "Top of the World". The Expedition will be under the guidance of the well-known Arctic explorer and author, Commander John Stanwell-Fletcher. The party will consist of 20 scientists, 4 Eskimoes, 80 sledge dogs and the Commander's lovely wife, Peggy Keenan. The purpose of the expedition is scientific research-the testing of new instruments and the setting up of data for air survival and rescue work, all made so necessary by present-day conditions. Only a limited number of covers can be carried, as weight is at a premium. Fleetwood has been granted the privilege of sending a certain number of covers for cancellation at the North Pole. We are preparing a beautiful, engraved cover for this Expedition-acover that every collector will cherish. A large part of the proceeds from the sale of covers will go toward helping to finance this costly expedition These covers, cancelled at the North-Pole, are only $1.00 each-6 for $5.00.
