Front:
TYPICAL CONSOLIDATED UTAH SCHOOL DISTRICT.
Life in Utab-in Towns and cities rather than along highways-has developed the co-operative spirit. Applied to the schools, this has brought the
consolidated district with its even distribution of advantages and burdens. There have never been more than a few one-room' school houses in the
State. There are practically none today. Instead each district provides graded schools where they are most needed and a high school, usually in the
geographical center. Free transportation, by horse conveyance, automobile, or electric car over good roads, eliminates the consideration of distance.

The uplifting sense of something
to be done that is the common duty,
the sharing of the task with others
similarly minded, the joy of the
common achievement; before this co-
operative spirit, elements that have
no kinship with man's fatigue or
woman's despair yield of their abun-
dance.
