Nov. 1873 to Feb. 74 it reached its peak. 5,000 men were hunting between the Platte River of Nebraska and the Red River in Texas. Over a half a million hides were shipped from this point. Brick Bond held the record killing 6,183 in 60 days. Prime hides sold for $2.50.
