In the mid-1950's, 134 B-5 0's were modified int
KB-50's for the Tactical Air Command. All arma
ment was removed and probe-and-dregue equip

simultaneously. In 1958-59, KB 50s were further
modified by adding jet engine pads under their
wings to increase refueling ceiling and speed. The
airplane is on display at the Air Forte
W-PAFB, Ohio.
