SHUSHAN AIRPORT. America's finest com-
bined land and seaplane base. Erected at a
cost of over $4,500,000, is fully equipped and
has the A-T-A rating of the Department of
Commerce. It is located on an artificial penin-
sula on Lake Pontchartrain, about six miles
northeast of New Orleans. Its four asphalt
runways each extend over 3,000 feet in length.
It also has a seaplane ramp at the east end
of the field.
