GEN. WARREN'S STATUE - LITTLE ROUND
TOP. Gouverneur Kemble Warren was born at Cold Spring,
N. Y., Jan, 8th, 1830. In 1863 he was appointed Chief
Engineer of the Army of the Potomac in Hooker's staff, and
held Little Round Top during a fierce assault in the battle of
Gettysburg, July 1863. In 1865 he was made Major-General
in the regular army, and died in 1882.
