T.E.V. "WAHINE" AT LYTTELTON, CANTERBURY, N.Z.
Launched in 1965, this turbo-electric vessel weighs 9,000
tons and can carry 927 passengers as well as 200 vehicles.
This high rise at the bow indicates that all the vehicles
have been driven through the stern doorways and across
the linkspan to begin their journeys in the South Island.
Now she waits to be refilled for the return voyage to
Wellington, 200 miles away.
